The avocado is considered a vegetable in the botanist's realm but consumers generally refer to it as a fruit (like the tomato is a fruit but we call it a vegetable). You can find them in the grocery store in the fruit section.
Avocados have a tremendous amount of nutritional benefit, including healthy monounsaturated fats that the body needs, as well as B vitamins, vitamin K, vitamin E, and they even have more potassium than a banana.
I'm no vegan, but many vegetarians enjoy avocado on sandwiches and in salads in order to get their daily fat requirement (since they don't consume animal fats or dairy). Avocados also have high insoluble fiber (about 75%) and soluble fiber. All in all, it's a great, very healthy food to add to your arsenal of weapons of ass destruction. (I don't know why I typed that. It just came to me and I don't have the heart to delete it LOL)
Here's how to make Cobb Salad
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- avocado (4 or 5 slices, about 1/3 of one)
- bacon
- hard boiled egg
- blue cheese crumbles
- some people add olives (I don't like them)
- Your dressing of choice
Have a great day.....av-o-cado go now!!!

I absolutely LOVE avocados. One of my favorite things for breakfast is to mash avocado in bowl with a squeeze of lime and salt and pepper and spread it on toast.
