Room Makeover

Dining room converted to an in-home gym 3-5-11

It's official. The addition which used to act as my dining room has become my in-home gym. I spent all day Saturday moving and cleaning and rearranging and I am thrilled with the results!

From left to right I have a Sole Fitness F80 Treadmill (I'll review that another day. I LOVE this treadmill!), an Ab Lounger 2, a Harbinger Floor Mat for floor exercises, an exercise bike, and not pictured I have a bench with free weights (hand weights) on it and a TV/DVD. I have been given an elliptical machine also, and now that I made room for it I will arrange to get that soon, too.

I don't know about you, but for me, everything has to be "right" before I can throw myself into something fully. For this body makeover, I needed cute workout clothes, a cute water bottle to drink from (really! lol) and most of all, this workout area needed to feel spacious, neat, organized and with plenty of room to move around.

I am someone who cannot stand being cramped or stuck in small spaces and the room, though plenty big, had too many things in there making for a cluttered mess. The two big ticket items I moved out were my piano and a huge area rug. I didn't feel I could move freely on the rug and kept moving off onto the hard wood to do many of the exercises anyway. And I now have the treadmill where the piano used to be. This was an important move because the treadmill was located in a corner of the room surrounded by glass. I always felt like one wrong step and I'd impale myself from top to bottom.

So now I have a gorgeous workout room ready for me to give it my all. No excuses, nothing in the way mentally or in the physical environment. I really can't wait and am very excited! WOOHOO!!!

The only downside? It's now all hard wood in there, which means the drill sergeant's voice is going to bounce off the walls and sound louder and meaner............ ♥♥♥

  1. I love the new workout room. its sooo nice and spacious. You did a great job. I hope you find a good spot for the piano. I think in front of the window where the loveseat is, is a good idea. good luck monday with the alpha cat!

Sorry to make you type in the "word verification" but I have been getting a ton of spammers lately. Just type in the word that you see and it should go through.

Thanks!
